India's Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the new passenger terminal building and Maitri Dwar at Petrapol land port. In his speech on Sunday (October 27), he said that the land ports of the country have developed tremendously in 10 years under the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Trade volume through the Petrapol land port has increased by more than one and a half times.
Amit Shah said that the new passenger terminal will be able to handle 25 thousand passengers. As a result, health and education tourism will increase in the country. He claimed that besides business, the cultural bond between India and Bangladesh will be stronger.
Amit Shah also said that 23 more new land ports will be created in the country. It will improve relations with neighboring countries. In addition to this, the government is emphasizing on digital systems at land ports, increasing security and reducing problems for passengers.
He said that the Land Port Authority is doing various developmental works. I asked Shantanuji (Bangaon MP and Union Minister) how many people come to Bangladesh for treatment? He said that at least five to six thousand people come for treatment at Kalyani AIIMS almost every day. As a result, our income increases.
He also said that today is the birthday of Jatin Das. I respect him. Integrated Check Post, Passenger Terminal and Maitri Dwar were inaugurated here today. It may seem like a very small thing. But it proves how visionary our Prime Minister is that he keeps an eye on every detail.
Criticizing the Mamata government on infiltration, Amit Shah said, if infiltration is not stopped, there will be no real development in West Bengal. If BJP comes to power in the state in 2026, illegal infiltration will stop, peace will return to the state
Amit Shah claimed that the current NDA government has given more rupees to the state than the UPA government in various central projects including housing, rural roads.
